The Pinto Stampede - Making a difference, one mile at a time
A note from Brian Campbell,
Owner: CR Computers in Hibbing, MN
a.k.a. The Cookieboy at CookieboysToys.com
In June, 2011 I rode with the Pinto Stampede to raise funds and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project and the important work they do.
I drove 2,955 miles on the 1st Pinto Stampede and CR Computers of Hibbing, MN donated $1.00 for each mile I drove, sponsoring my Pinto, on the Pinto Stampede making a difference, one mile at a time.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Start your engines
You do not want to miss this!
Bristol Motor Speedway located at 151 Speedway Blvd., in Bristol, Tennessee, has agreed to let the Pinto's tear up the track to start the 2012 Pinto Stampede!
Other stops along the 2012 Pinto Stampede will include:
Wood Brothers Racing located at 21 Performance Drive in Stuart, VA - What more can you say, "FORD!" And the winner of last year's Daytona 500. Wood Brothers is the oldest continuously operating NASCAR Cup Series team and the team has always raced Ford products. Edsel Ford, great-grandson of Henry Ford I proudly states, "We consider Wood Brothers Racing a part of our family, the Ford Family."
The Tank Museum located at 3401 US Hwy 29B in Danville, VA has one of the largest privately owned collection in the world. William Gasser bought his first armored fighting vehicle in the 1970s. Now he has well over a hundred -- and not just any run-of-the-mill front-lawn-of-the-local-VFW rust buckets. There's an M1917 tank from World War I, so rare that the National World War I Museum searched for years before it could locate one. He has a German Mark IV Panzer from World War II, "like having the Mona Lisa," he said. "The Holy Grail would be easier to find."
National Firearms Museum located at 11250 Waples Mill Rd in Fairfax, VA on the ground floor of the National Rifle Association's office building headquarters. Its space seems small, but that may be because so many thousands of guns are packed into it. Wall after wall are filled with old rifles and pistols, an impressive visual argument that America has always been awash in firepower.
Saturday and Sunday, May 19th & 20th, 2012 find us at the Summit Point Motorsports Park for vintage racing and a Wounded Warrior benefit. The races will have numerous vintage cars six Ford Pinto's will be competing. Let's root for our brethren and show up in force.
Summit Point Motorsports Park located 70 miles west of Washington, DC and 40 minutes drive from Dulles International Airport. 20 minutes in nearby in Winchester, VA and Charles Town, WV spectators and participants will find many accomodations and restaurants.
